There is a chance to love at every turn,
But it seems that most have lost their rudder;
Love extinguishes hateful hearts that burn,
But scarce a kind word we dare to utter.

Why then are we shocked by the state of things,
In a world of spite and demonizing?
A dangerous place where hate’s given wings,
And you feel the malevolence rising.

We each have run down this path wildly—
A rocky road of arrogance and pride;
We’ve lost our way and are too blind to see,
That there is but one way to slow down our stride...

Humility is the lesson to learn—
For there’s a chance to love at every turn.
